Noida Authority to acquire land to boost infrastructure projects

To speed up development projects especially along Noida-Greater Noida Expressway as, the Noida Authority will start land possession process of over 500 acre land including Kondali and Momnathal villages.

The Noida Authority officials said that in many villages along Noida-Greater Noida Expressway including Kondali and Momnathal land acquisition process has already been completed and soon the Authority will acquire the land after imposing section nine. The Authority to acquire khasra number 159, 160, 421, 423, 424 etc in Momnathal village while khasra number 51, 89, 90, 115, 212, 213, 214, 215, 217, 220, 221, 222, 234, 255, 233, 259 ect will be acquired in Kondali village to speed up infrastructure work. Internal sectors road and service road connectivity work is hampered as these khasras have not been acquired. This further adding woes to general commuters and residents living along Noida Greater Noida Expressway.

“Process under Section four and section six of land acquisition has been completed and now by applying section 9, the authority will issue notices for possession of land,” the official said.

“We have managed to acquire over 70 percent land in several villages and as per the new land acquisition act we can now use urgency clause. We are in process to acquire the above said khasras. We will apply section nine, under which, the authority will issue notices to farmers for possession of land,” the official added.

The Authority officials said that in most of the villages 70 percent land has been acquired for the infrastructure projects and the Authority is now acquire rest 30 percent through urgency clause.

“In many cases, process of acquisition almost completed and now under section nine, the authority will issue notices to farmers for possession of land. The process will complete soon and then several projects, which were hampered due to delay in land acquisition will begin,” the authority officials said.

Additional CEO Rajesh Prakash said that in most of the cases, hurdle has been clear and soon the authority will start acquiring land to speed development work.

“Several projects were disrupted due to ongoing land acquision row. Once the Authority will acquire land, the development work will speed up,” he added.

Notably, several infrastructures in Noida and Greater Noida is hampered due to small patches of land, falling within the projects have not been acquired. To connect Noida with Greater Noida through service roads, in many areas work is stand stalled with the same reason.

According to fresh land acquisition act, prior-consent shall be required from 70% of land losers and those working on government assigned lands only in the case of public-private partnership projects 80% in the case of private companies. This consent also includes consent to the amount of compensation that shall be paid.
