New DC of Gurgaon wants to digitize land records

Delhi/NCR
The newly appointed deputy commissioner of Gurgaon, T L Satyaprakash, hit the ground running on November 24, his first day at work.

The 2002 batch IAS officer on Day 1 signed an MoU with Hartron (Haryana state electronic development corporation limited) to set up common service centres (CSCs) in eight villages of the district. Village-level entrepreneurs have already been appointed for running these CSCs, wherein the residents can avail themselves of facilities such as having caste certificates at their doorstep.

Satyaprakash also met district officers and was briefed about their departments. He said that he would show ‘zero tolerance’ for corruption in tehsil offices and SDMs should accordingly ensure corrupt practices ended in their offices.

“Gurgaon represents Haryana to the world and any fraud in land deals in the city brings a bad name not only to Gurgaon but also to the entire state. Therefore, I want to digitize the land records and information regarding every piece of land so that it is available to all the stakeholders on the internet. The procedure should be simplified so that the National Informatics Centre gets the digitized data before the launch of a project,” he said.

Satyaprakash also laid emphasis on physical education and said that all coaches should report for duty at 6am daily and train the players properly. He said he would soon visit the stadium and other sporting facilities in the district soon.

On his priorities as DC in Gurgaon, he said that he could not fix priorities before studying the needs of the place. “I will set my priorities according to the problems or demands coming from the residents,” he said.

Satyaprakash was earlier posted as director of industries & commerce and mines & geology, Haryana, and managing director of Haryana State Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (HSIIDC) in Chandigarh.

Former deputy commissioner Shekhar Vidyarthi has been transferred to Rohtak as deputy commissioner.
