Draw for 25,000 DDA flats today, watch it live online

After a delay of 20 days, DDA will hold the draw for its 2014 housing scheme on November 25 from 11.30 in the morning.

The process is expected to take about one-and-a-half hours. The suspense for all the 10,08,700 applicants for the 25,034 flats is likely to be over by 1pm.

For the first time ever, DDA has made arrangements to webcast the draw live on its website and YouTube.

Sources in Delhi Development Authority (DDA) say the main reason for the repeated delay was a software glitch that had stretched the mock draws till up to nine hours. DDA is reported to have called up external software engineers to rewrite the code of the program that will decide the fate of 10 lakh applications.

“By the end of last week the engineers had finally fixed the glitch and we monitored trials happening within two hours. Repeated mock trails have been conducted over the weekend and now we are confident of holding it within one-and-a-half hours,” said a DDA official.
