It is that time of the year when real estate stakeholders across the country - developers, brokers, bankers, policy makers and buyers - all are eagerly waiting for the Union Budget 2015. This year’s budget is special for multiple reasons. To begin with it is the first full-fledged Budget by the Modi Government after the interim session presented by the Finance Minister, Arun Jaitley in June 2014.
Secondly, it is the first Budget that will actually show if the various promises made by the government pertaining to Housing for All and affordable housing would be implemented or not. The Regulatory Bill, which has been pending for long, is also expected to be passed this time.
Even though the event is more than 25 days away, industry speculations have already started doing the rounds about what to expect for the real estate sector. While the industry experts have started voicing their opinions and expectations, buyers’ and consumers’ expectations and needs may be completely different.
