1 lakh green-rated buildings by 2025

1 lakh green-rated buildings by 2025

It is estimated that the country will have over a lakh green buildings by end of 2025. The need to build green projects also stems from the fact that there are direct benefits of building such projects.

Ansal’s Esencia Community offers well-designed homes with the very best amenities. Esencia township has been registered as a pilot project for rating under GRIHA (Green Rating for Integrated Habitat Assessment).

Ansal API has recently announced an ultraluxurious gated community, adjacent to Esencia on Golf Course Ex tension Road in Gurgaon. Esencia is a certified GRIHA development. The premium, 660 independent residences are surrounded by eight theme-based parks with 142 acres of lush greens.

Rakesh Yadav, managing director of Antriksh Group, says: “We have adopted green technology and processes by using fly ash concrete, which is a byproduct of coal production. This replaces more than 25% of the cement used in traditional concrete, reducing the amount of emissions in making the concrete mix in our Golf City project in Sector 150, Noida. “ Raushan Prakash, director of Geotech Group, says: “For the past some time now, as buyers started demanding for green projects, the industry has responded by developing eco-friendly buildings. Commercial real estate was the frontrunner in developing green buildings, whereas residential real estate, too, is fast catching up with this trend.“

Amarjit Bakshi, MD of Central Park, says: “Builders are increasingly incorporating green-rated design philosophy, which gives unmatched built quality and, overall, a tremendous living experience. The cosmopolitan patrons of Gurgaon have embraced green technologies wholeheartedly and our green building projects like Central Park I and Central Park II have captured this niche clientele.“

Prashant Solomon, MD of Chintels India, says: We are contributing our bit towards creating a green environment and working towards achieving a Gold certification from LEED. Features like solar street lighting, sewage treatment plant, extensive green spaces, water harvesting, orientation of buildings so that they require minimum airconditioning with more natural light are some of the common practices followed by Chintels in every project. Chintels Infracon, our subsidiary contracting company, is manufacturing environment-friendly fly ash concrete blocks for our projects like Chintels Paradiso, Chintels Serenity, and Chintels Corporate Park.“

David Walker, managing director of SARE Homes, says: “These days it is essential for all of us to understand the benefits of green buildings. A green building is one which uses less water, optimizes energy efficiency, conserves natural resources, generates less waste and provides healthier spaces for occupants, compared to a conventional building.“

“The national capital region is leading in terms of developing such projects. It alone has a number of projects that promise features of a green project,“ Vijay Jindal, chairman and managing director of SVP Group, said.
